James Joyce Tower, Sandycove, Dublin
On the Southside of Dublin's coastline lies the beautiful little suburb called Sandycove and it's here that James Joyce lived for a short time. The story goes that Oliver St John Gogarty lived in this Martello Tower well before him and that Joyce moved in with Gogarty after forking up the £8 annual rent for the premises. However, after only six days and a huge disagreement with Gogarty, Joyce moved out. The morning after this row was immortalized as the first chapter of Joyce’s masterpiece “Ulysses”. If your in the area drop in, there is a beautiful little museum dedicated to the great writer and it is free of admission.
Inspired in Ireland and Created in Ireland. I have always sketched and painted since I was a child, but it wasn't until my early twenties, when I started to experiment with watercolour, that I saw the medium I really wanted to work in. I immediately loved its transparency and delicate tones. Latest original paintings of beautiful scenes of Ireland and also from my favourite holiday destinations.
