This year, Tierneys Gifts proudly celebrates its 75th anniversary! This marks a significant milestone as one of Ireland’s leading independent giftware and homeware retailers. Founded in 1951 by Dick Tierney in Dún Laoghaire, the business originally focused on costume jewellery and crystal. As the years went on, the product range expanded to include silverware, figurines, and toys, and more! Today, under the leadership of Dick's son Michael Tierney, the shop has become a household name. It is known for its beautifully curated gifts and keepsakes that help celebrate life’s most meaningful moments.

Tierney’s has remained a family-run business with strong roots in community and tradition. In the early days, Tierney’s was shipping over 100 parcels a week to North America. Waterford Crystal alone accounted for over 30% of yearly sales. Today, the business has evolved into a bustling web store with live stock feeds. It continues to serve a loyal Irish customer base, all while staying true to its core values.

One of the most cherished memories in our history is the day Tierney’s brought the first Santa Claus to Dún Laoghaire. He arrived by horse and cart, drawing such a crowd that traffic came to a halt and the Gardaí had to step in! Moments like these have shaped the spirit of Tierney’s Gifts.
